While the headlines seem to indicate great progress at Lazada, the payment methods have not expanded and are rather limiting and making many customers go elsewhere and they need to devote some attention to how Filipinos pay for online purchases and expand the options available. It is common to have many payment options as this ad notes including LBC and 7 11 but Lazada doesn't seem to be listening...
I recently wanted to buy two different cell phones on Lazada but with the limited payment options and no pay on delivery for most high priced cell phones, I chose to go to other online stores that offered over the counter payments at banks/LBC/7-11 sadly.
Lazada Philippines advertise payment upon delivery BUT most cell phone listings require prior payment which should be changed by Lazada and force all of their merchants to offer pay on delivery which is one of the prime attractions to Lazada. The businesses can include insurance in their price if they don't want to do business in this new attractive pay on delivery advertisement but they should be forced to join the Lazada bandwagon to make shopping easy and increase sales even for high end cell phones and I have tried recently twice to buy high end cell phones and ran into this block both times which is very frustrating. Find some new merchants to sell the high end cell phones with PAYMENT ON delivery payment not advance payment.
Presently, with payment in advance only available on most expensive cell phones, Lazada does not have many advance payment options. Online businesses in the PHILIPPINES offer over the counter bank payments and LBC and 7-11 store payment options beyond just credit cards and paypal. Lazarda Philippines does not even allow Paypal from other countries such as the USA to be used as I tried to buy a phone from Lazada recently and Lazada merchant would not accept my USA paypal account??? which I used to buy from ebay philippines regularly. And many people do not have credit cards but want to buy from Lazada Even investor PLDT has many options as the headlines indicate at the beginning of the article blares but in reality they have not flowed to Lazada and they should to make the business much more sucessful. And why not offer full MANUFACTURERS warranty on products from manufacturer rather than making the customer take all risks with no warranty available? Why not offer next day delivery like most Philippine online merchants do?
